On a Thanksgiving weekend I was walking with my nephews during a family outing at the zoo. Young Nathan asked me if writing songs is hard. "Of course not", I said. "We can write a song about what we see here. Like over there - there's a lazy old tiger laying in the sun." Nathan walked silently beside me for a minute, then excitedly finished the couplet: "And when he wakes up his dream will be done." Brilliantly done, sir! I promised I would write a song around those lines. Here it is. However, I failed to recall that it was a tiger we spied, not the king of beasts. But a lion is a lot more alliterative. Thank you Nathan!

There's lots of animals at the zoo
Elephants and bears and kangaroos
And all kinds of monkeys, including baboons
There's a lazy old lion sleeping in the sun

He's dreaming of a place he can roam around

Watching the people walking by watching him
