This is a moody song whose origins have escaped the memory banks. The basic tracks were laid down years earlier (maybe the late 1990s?) on a four-track cassette recorder and later transferred to digital.

Keyboard/effects overdubs occurred as the lyrics came together. The initial idea was to create a spoken word piece with a musical backing; but several takes never produced a satisfactory result. Talk-singing the piece more effectively captured the rhythm in both the words and music.

Start To Let Go is one of the more sonically eccentric entries in the Kevins canon.
