Slinking 'cross the sidewalk like a cat caught in the rain
I've got fourteen kinds of trouble on my mind
Things have got me thinking that my life will never change

When I woke up this morning, the sun behind the clouds
I thought that this might be my day to die
But then I started thinking, and then I got to drinking
For the life of me I can't remember why

I've got my problems, and you've got yours

I'm gonna get my life back in line

Well I called up my baby just to tell her that I loved her
But I could not get her on the phone
So I went down to the drugstore and drank a cherry coke
Now I'm sittin' here watching tv all alone

Some day a big wind's gonna come breathe life into these sails
And it's gonna blow my ship right into port
And I'll be there on the gang plank with a gun that doesn't shoot straight
And an IRS man who'll take me straight to court
